‘The Last Tree follows the story of Femi, a British boy of Nigerian heritage who, after a happy childhood in rural Lincolnshire, moves to inner London to live with his mum. Struggling with the unfamiliar culture and values of his new environment, teenage Femi has to figure out which path to adulthood he wants to take, and what it means to be a young black man in London.’

It features Sam Adewumni, Nicholas Pinnock, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Denise Black and Ruthxjiah Bellenea.

Developed and supported by the BFI it wrapped in London in summer 2018.

THE LAST TREE premiered as part of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Nominated for Grand Jury Prize World Cinema - Dramatic. It was released by Picturehouse in the summer of 2019 and released on blue ray, dvd and streaming in January 2020.
